Capital Area, Savannah, Winton Road, Collins Group and Bedford Acres Finish Up June in BeauChamp Strong!

Posted on Saturday, July 4th, 2009, by Teresa under General News, Mike, Teaching

From June 17th thru June 24th we had 5 different groups come stay with us out in BeauChamp.  Some were just for overnight and some were for the entire time.  But it was amazing to see just how much ministry could get done during that time.  We built cisterns, ran wire for electricity and put up fans in the Ministry Room, taught the youth, did a VBS, gave out peanut butter sandwiches — all for the glory of God our Father.  We even broke our record for the largest amount to stay on the roof — can you say 64!!
Capital Area Christian Church Youth from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania came in to help with the building of a Haitian Home. T-Poppa from BeauChamp Church was selected.  T-Poppa and his wife have been married for quite a few years and have never had their own place.  They first lived with his parents, her parents and then were living in separate places.  They now have a rented house but the rent was due in July — now they are going to be able to have their own house and live together with their 2 …

B-Awesome Groups — Huntsville and Merritt Island

Posted on Saturday, June 13th, 2009, by Teresa under Evangelism, General News, Teaching

We could not have asked for a better group to start the summer off with than these two groups.  You would have never known that there were two groups there because they meshed as one group.  From the very beginning the unity between them was evident.  They came with a specific thing in mind — to serve God and the Haitian people — and they did this extremely well.  They did not let the rain or mud dampen their spirits.  We still accomplished everything that was planned.
Who said it “never rains in BeauChamp?”  It started to rain in the area the day before we got there and it continued to rain almost everyday this group was here.  Mike and I could barely cross the river on the 4-wheeler on Saturday to come home.  The group arrived a few hours later in the bus and one of the trucks.  We were very happy to see them because we were not sure that they could make it without getting stuck.
Thank goodness the ministry center was complete so we could eat, have our devotions, do the Gran Moun party and break-out sessions for the …

Teaching Seminar

Posted on Friday, December 19th, 2008, by Teresa under Mike, Teaching

This past November I was finally able to start the first, of what I hope to be many, seminar classes with the leaders in the Far West. I have told the preachers that they can come and invite one to two other men from their church. This will enable me to train more men at one time.

We got off to a rough start because no one showed up to our first class because of rain. Unlike America the rural areas almost shut down when it rains because travel is so difficult. The next week we began our study through the book of Philippians. Although we did not have as many leaders as I had hoped, I have pledged to teach whether we have two people or twenty-two.

We have a great time studying God’s Word together. With the study I have questions for them to answer as we work our way through each chapter. As we finish each chapter I then have sample sermon outlines or lessons outlines that we discuss. They then are able to take these and go back and teach or preach this same material in their …
