New Church Plant — Nan Chapelle
September 23rd – Sept 27th found us planting our 4th new church in 2009 in the countryside of Nan Chapelle. This area was back up in the mountains that was remote but at the same time filled with many Haitian homes. The people had put up a chacoon church, which is made of palm branches, and put in tree benches to sit on. We started Wednesday night and closed on Sunday morning. During this time 92 people came forward at the invitations. Of this total some were redidications, other are in the process of being taught more fully the steps of salvation and 25 were baptized at the end of the week.

In this small chacoon structure we as Americans might have put 50 people but for a Haitian revivial/crusade we found ourselves in the midst of over 200 people. People brought their own chairs, people stood for hours as we praised and worshiped God and listened to His Word preached.
During this week we had a Boco (Witch Doctor) who gave his life to Christ and was baptized. He gave up his voodoo hankercheifs, his magic book and one of the two ladies he was living with. The following day he was united in marriage with one of these women to make things right in the eyes of God.

We also had another older man who was baptized on Sunday morning and then married to his wife that afternoon.

As we went to do the baptisms I was amazed to see a cement resevoir that some organization had built. Although the resevoir was made of cement and a wonderful structure it was filled with some of the muddist water I have ever seen. Even some of the Haitians hesitated to go in, but I thank God that they were obedient to the scriptures in being baptized into the death, burial and resurection of Jesus Christ. As the people stepped down into the muddy pool and were buried in Christ and the dirty water rolled off of their bodies, Praise God the blood of Jesus washed their souls white as snow. The angels rejoiced in Heaven, those of us gathered by the pool sang praises to God as we witnessed our new brothers and sisters rise from the water as new creatures in Christ.

As we worshipped together that week the spirit of God was moving in a mighty way. On Sunday morning we had 138 present as we dedicated this new church to the Glory of God. Please be in prayer for this new body of believers.

WOW! It’s been a while since I’ve seen your website – this is beautiful – and am SO excited to see all the ministry happening in the far northwest. No doubt people are seeing the face of Jesus reflected through you.
