Picture Problems :-(

Posted on Wednesday, July 29th, 2009, by Teresa under General News

I don’t know what is wrong with my blog site.  I have not been able to upload pictures for almost a month.  I have checked several things but none of them have helped.  Hopefully when we get back to the states (August 8th) I will be able to get my problem fixed.  I just tried again and was not successful.  Oh technology — how wonderful it is when it works and how frustrating it is when it doesn’t.  I guess I will just have to blog and you can use your imagination to see the pictures!!

(Having trouble getting pictures to upload — will publish them when I can)
Monday, June 20, 2009 @ 3:00 p.m., Wedding Day Bliss for Vogly and Ermante.  Well as most things in Haiti, Vogly’s wedding was on Haiti time.  Mike had talked to Vogly about how important it is to start on time and actually thought he had gotten that point across — but, 2:45 p.m. and Ermante is taking a bath.  It is now 3:10 and we are just starting to put on her wedding dress and get her all fixed up.  No one extra is here except for the bride’s family that was brought by tap-tap by the mission so they had to be on time because Mike made sure it left in plenty of time.  It was very, very hot while we were getting ready for the wedding. Poor Ermante was sweating so much just getting into her dress.
Finally — 4:00 p.m. and it is time to start.  Mike comes up to me and says — don’t you know, you are the maid of honor.  Well, no I did not know and I really did not have …

From June 17th thru June 24th we had 5 different groups come stay with us out in BeauChamp.  Some were just for overnight and some were for the entire time.  But it was amazing to see just how much ministry could get done during that time.  We built cisterns, ran wire for electricity and put up fans in the Ministry Room, taught the youth, did a VBS, gave out peanut butter sandwiches — all for the glory of God our Father.  We even broke our record for the largest amount to stay on the roof — can you say 64!!
Capital Area Christian Church Youth from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania came in to help with the building of a Haitian Home. T-Poppa from BeauChamp Church was selected.  T-Poppa and his wife have been married for quite a few years and have never had their own place.  They first lived with his parents, her parents and then were living in separate places.  They now have a rented house but the rent was due in July — now they are going to be able to have their own house and live together with their 2 …
