Back in Haiti
We have been back in Haiti for 1-1/2 weeks now. I cannot believe how much can happen in that short amount of time. We were at the mission for 2-1/2 days and then headed to BeauChamp on Monday. We stopped in Port-de-Paix for some supplies and then on to home.
Wow, the road to BeauChamp is really, really bad. I think it is a good thing that we forget some things rather quickly because I had definitely forgotten how bad the road had gotten especially after the hurricane. But it was worth the travel to get to our home sweet home.
We arrived home and everyone was so glad to see each other. It was so good to see our Haitian family. They were so gracious in looking after the house and our animals while we were gone. Poor Bandit has surely lived up to his name. He was pretty much in solitary confinement while we were gone. He had started running with some dogs and Odenis was afraid he would get killed so he kept him in his cage while we were gone.
Boy, were they ever so glad to see their “mommy”. Bandit and Cody stayed right with me everywhere I went at first. And Belle is doing great also. She still needs to get some weight on her. I cannot wait until the horse feed arrives on the container for her.
I got to ride Belle twice so far. All of the boys love to come and ride Belle. I guess that Madame Mike’s horse is just more fun than their burros.
And the best thing is – Jose got our internet hooked up, so now we are up-to-date with the rest of the world (well kind of). He had to make 2 trips out here and worked all day. He said he didn’t want to have to make that trip again unless he had to. Also, I know he is worried about Jody and the babies so thank you Jose.
I started with the sewing group on Wednesday. We are all excited that I am back. They already had a question concerning II Samuel 13 – Amnon and Tamar – so that is the lesson for tomorrow. I am looking to expand the program to add 5 more ladies. I am praying that God will show me the ladies that need to be a part of this program. I would like to say thank you to all who have helped me with this program thus far and to please continue with your support. This program is going really well.
I was going to start teaching an overview of the Old Testament to my sewing group but have decided instead to start a ladies group and teach this to all of the ladies. This will probably consist of 30-60 ladies. We will do an overview of the Old Testament. Please pray for me as I will begin this endeavor within the next 3 weeks.
Time to get the 4-wheeler out and get it road-ready for a busy new year.
Mike, Vogly and Jean Claude sat down and begin to map out the next few months. They are planning speaking engagements, revivals, new towns to work in to spread God’s Word as well as encourage our present churches in the Far West. Mike will begin teaching the book of Acts in the bible college on January 22nd and will travel to St. Louis du Nord once a week for the next 3 months. He will also teach the book of Acts on Thursdays to the Haitian leaders in the Far West. Please pray for safe travel and for good health to keep up with this busy schedule.
