2 weeks back in the states — Thanksgiving with family and the agony of a little stone…
Boy what a 2-week stint it has been. We came in and went directly to the National Missionary Convention in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The convention went great and it was nice for Vogly, Ferdinand, and Rolgard to be able to see each other and visit. We then flew to Orlando where Vogly had to fly one route and Mike and I flew another route but we ended up meeting in Orlando. Mike had to go all around the airport because Vogly was not where he was supposed to be. He just started walking around and was trying to call his mom. After finally finding Vogly we got home at about 11:30 p.m. We were to leave the next day heading toward Alabama. We finally got off at about 2:00 p.m. heading toward Tallahassee to spend the night with our son.
Finally making it to Alabama to share Thanksgiving with 16 adults, 3 children, 2 infants, and 3 dogs. What a family gathering. We enjoyed Thanksgiving even with the amount of people. Everyone left for their respective homes by Sunday morning and we all still loved each other. We even went out and shopped Black Friday at 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning. I guess we were crazy but we found some good deals!
Thinking we would have a few easy days before heading to Atlanta — well I had to have a kidney stone attack. It was the worst attack I have ever had. I had booked a ticket to Orlando trying to get back to my doctor in Florida but was unable to wait until Tuesday morning. I had to have Mike take me to the emergency room in Hunstville, Alabama. Mike said it was a good thing I had no open wounds because my pain was so back I was actually lying on the floor in the emergency room trying to get some relief. After 7 hours of extreme pain and vomitting they finally gave me some pain medicine. I was ready for someone to just shoot me and that actually would have been fine with me. We finally left the emergency room around 3:00 a.m. Even though they had just given me an IV of nausea and pain medicine I am still vomitting ot the car window as we pull away from the emergency room. They said I could not fly to Florida until I had either passed the stone or had it removed by a urologist. Well as emergency rooms go — they gave me the wrong information of what urologist to go to. After finally getting in touch with the right one they could not see me until Wednesday morning. Well as it turned out I was able to pass the stone Tuesday evening. Praise God I did not have to have any type of surgical removal.
Now Today we are in Atlanta, Georgia visiting with Mike’s family. We are supposed to be here until Sunday if I can stay well. So maybe I will finally be able to blog some and get some updated information on the web.
