Pain in the — back!

Wow, what a couple of weeks it has been.  We just got back to the mission campus in St. Louis last night and I am trying to catch up on some things – email and all of that kind of stuff.  I hurt my back last Tuesday – I was shaking out a rug – and it has really caused me some pain today.  I thought I was doing better yesterday but I guess the ride back in from BeauChamp really aggravated it.  I woke up this morning and was very stiff.  The pain was getting worse and I asked about getting some drugs and they sent me to see Dr. Dell.  Well Dr. Dell gave me a muscle relaxer and pain pill.  Well that didn’t work.  By lunch time I was laying in Vicki’s bed and could hardly move.  I barely could maneuver myself to the computer to send Jody and email for help.  I asked for Jody or Melissa to come and check on me as the pain was getting worse.  They sent Dr. Dell back down to look at me again.  He said it could possibly be …

Back in Haiti

It is lunchtime and Gabriel is having his first birthday party — Baseball theme. Jody has done a wonderful job giving him a birthday party with all of the trimmings. I would post a picture but my camera is in my carryon bag which is still not here yet — so just use your imagination. Kids are so funny. Here is this wonderful decorated area with baseball theme, balloons, presents, food and Gabriel eats his lunch but is so ready for his nap — Jody tries to get him interested in the “party” but he would rather take a nap. I guess that presents and breaking open the pinata (sp?) will have to wait. Happy Birthday Gabriel!!
Well — not for sure if we are going to BeauChamp today or tomorrow. All of our luggage is not at the airport in Port-au-Paix yet. I think it will be tomorrow. They say the road to BeauChamp has changed so since the storms — that we will not even recognize it. That the stream that we cross over in 3 different areas is …
